Twyford, Charvil and Whistley Green

A short walk in the countryside around Twyford (optionally) followed by a visit to Twyford Beer Festival. You can of course just do the walk and not the beer festival.

The walks starts at 10:50 from outside the Station Road entrance of Twyford railway station, then heads down Station Road to Church Street, where we will take a pedestrian alleyway in to Polehampton Close. If you have parked in the Polehampton Close car park (see note below) you can wait for us there rather than walk up to the station. (We will be passing the the car park around 11:00 but we won't be waiting there, so please be ready.) We will then head to Silk Lane and join a footpath by the River Loddon.

A circuitous route takes us around the Loddon Nature Reserve and Charvil Country Park before heading south and east to Whistley Bridge. Then we'll head east to Hogmoor Lane and Stanlake Bridge before heading through Broad Hinton and on to Waltham Road. Here, those going to the beer festival will finish the walk at Stanlake Meadow Recreation Ground, whereas those going home will continue to Hurst Road and the railway station.

Please bring a light packed lunch or snack and drinking water.
