Crowthorne Woods, Caesar’s Camp, Wickham Bushes & the Devil’s Highway

This 4¾ mile walk through Crowthorne Woods, visits the fascinating remains of Caesar's Camp (an Iron Age hill fort), the military redoubt at Wickham Bushes (raised banks with outer ditches, built in 1792 for training purposes against the threat of possible invasion by Napoleon's forces) and includes part The Devil's Highway (a Roman road from Silchester to London).

The landscape is gently undulating with just 290ft of ascent and there are some lovely views over to Bracknell, Wokingham and Reading. Please bring something to drink. No need for a packed lunch as there is no lunch stop on this walk.
