13 Mile Circular Walk (Moderate) Windsor Great Park and Cow Pond
Walk Details: a 13 mile circular walk starting at Sunningdale Train Station. Our walk will start with a footpath that leads to the playing fields where we will then walk along the road and country lanes to a footpath that leads to Cowarth Park. We will enter Windsor Great Park at Blacknest Gate car park and walk through the woods to the Virginia Water Visitor Centre for our first short break (toilet facilities available). We will then walk towards the Totem Pole and follow the footpaths to the Obelisk Pond and continue along the edge of the polo fields before walking through the woods to Cow Pond where we will enjoy the water lilies in flower (hopefully) and stop for lunch - a stunning picturesque lunch spot. We will then leave Cow Pond and follow the road to Smiths Lawn polo fields which we will walk along and then walk past the Guards Polo Club before entering the Heather Gardens and Valley Gardens where we will have a short break (toilet facilities available). We will then walk through Valley Gardens and cross over Five Arch Bridge and leave Windsor Great Park at Blacknest Gate. We will then walk along roads and country lanes before entering Sunningdale Park and follow the footpath through the park and then a footpath to Sunningdale train station.

We will be walking mainly on gravel / tarmac tracks and footpaths, however suitable walking boots will be needed as some areas may be muddy in places if there has been heavy rain.
As usual bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink. There are toilet facilities on the walk at Virginia Water Visitor Centre and Valley Gardens
After the walk there is the option of visiting a local pub or coffee shops for a social drink.
